Home / About

Studs & Lace is a UK based online store established in 2008 by Anna Peters and has since featured in Vogue magazine.

We specialise in vintage and vintage inspired pieces that are influenced by fashion dated from the 1920’s to the 1980’s. Our aim is to offer both promising designers as well as established brands a platform to market their designs. We have various independent designers that contribute to Studs & Lace. Each designer has been specially chosen for their ability to produce high quality products for the forever changing market. None of the garments we sell are mass produced. We don’t believe in wearing clothes just once we want you to get the most out of all of our garments so you can wear it year after year after year…

Meet The Designers

Hankie Tankie
By Ariana Austin

Hankie Tankie began when the designer’s mother sent her a package of vintage hankies with a note that said, ‘Do something with these!’ Ariana had been experimenting with tank-tops and -voila!- Hankie Tankie was born. Each top is one-of-a-kind and inspired by a passion for recycling abandoned vintage fabrics into original designs. Ariana grew up digging for vintage treasures at sunny California swapmeets and currently resides in lush green Portland Oregon, where she enjoys rummaging through the “Free Boxes” that come Springtime, everyone in the community puts out their front door.

The Idea of Harry
By Fran McGourty

The Idea of Harry was started by Francesca McGourty a trained clothing designer. The Idea of Harry produces vintage inspired garments. The kind of clothes designed and made are items that would be worn by the designer herself.

Inspiration comes from everyday life and vintage details. The fabrics used are vintage inspired, ranging from tweeds to bold floral cottons.
The items are trans-seasonal items and can be worn with thick tights and a coat for winter and/or bear legs and a light cardigan for summer.
The garments created can be accessorized and worn differently according to the owner this is what The Idea of Harry is about.

By  Ruth Block

Founder Ruth Block studied fashion design and International Fashion Business at Nottingham Trent University. The idea then came about to create Lois after graduating from fashion school. Lois creates unique women’s clothing from unwanted clothing and fabrics. Being deeply affected by the amount of clothing that is thrown into landfills, Lois recycles clothing by taking these unwanted fabrics and giving them a new life. Lois designs are trend driven and fashion led whilst each piece is still unique.

Hand stitched in Thailand by some of Bangkok’s most skilled pattern cutters using fabrics sourced in the Far East Neat London designs are ready to wear, colourful, punky, funky, babydoll, empire line and often pulled in at the waist like a Kimono with an Obi belt to ensure that one size fits most.

Pixie Dust Designs

Pixie Dust Designs is a vintage rework label transforming vintage pieces into current trends and offering something individual and unique, sick of seeing mass produced items they decided they wanted to offer something different yet affordable for the everyday woman.
Due to the nature of the items there may be slight flaws in the fabric this is not a fault with the product itself.

Muddle Jewellery was started in January 2007 by Sarah Cole.
Having a BA in 3D Design and an MA in Fashion Design, Sarah was able to use the skills she obtained to create unique pieces of jewellery and hair accessories for the fun, quirky and individual girl.

The items are lovingly made using sourced vintage charms, jewellery and fabrics. These are then combined with new elements creating timeless pieces.

Imogen’s Imagination
